MONDAY'S PREP

This is in the wrong tab as I can't access the blog from my laptop for some reason. Prep tonight is to read and complete the sheet on speech writing- including the part where it says list 3 topics you thing your class would be interested in. We will brainstorm these tomorrow. Think about what you will do for your own speech. Talk to your parents about starting to write it. We will start presenting speeches next Monday other than Brock and Harry M who will be on Wednesday due to choir camp.
Secondly, ideally on a google doc, write your spelling words into alphabetical order and use ten in interesting sentences. Make sure you underline list words. Prep not completed tonight will be done in break times tomorrow

REMEMBER TO SIGN IN ON THE CLASS LIST ON THE WHITEBOARD WHEN YOU GET TO SCHOOL TOMORROW!
SOCIAL SCIENCE PREP AND 5/6KF MATHS PREP IS IN THE PREP TAB.
GO THE BAY! Boys ensure you manage yourselves and your time this week so all homework is completed in the allocated time.

8/29/2013

Boys, it is your responsibility to stay up-to-date with your prep - make sure you do! Also remember that you only need to share a document with me once - not every time you work on it. Do all of one type of work on the same document eg all WOTD does on one doc, not a new one each day! Some of you have really got the hang of this - good on you!

8/28/2013

DON'T FORGET TONY CHRISTIANSEN PARAGRAPH DUE TOMORROW!

8/25/2013

Boys, I have sent you all an email to your Hereworth email address. Please check it!

Congratulations to Wil and Henry - winners of our mini tech challenge. Their tower, made of spagetti, marshmallows and a little sellotape, measured in at an impressive 116.5 cm. Great effort boys!

Some of 5/6 KF completely engrossed on the iPads, working on their information reports on NZ native birds and animals. 11 boys have now brought their own iPads in to class and, so far, the initial time spent working using them has been extremely positive! Boys using the class set of iPads are similarly engaged.

8/19/2013

REMEMBER DRESS WHITES AND ALL PLAYING GEAR FOR SCHOOL, HOUSE AND WINTER SPORTS PHOTOS TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY)

8/18/2013

Boys need their sneakers at school every day at the moment as we are training for Sandy Lane.

8/13/2013

Today has been a bit of a mixed day with the choir out most of the morning so while it was 'class as usual' the usual quantity of work was not completed in all areas. Tomorrow will be a little different as well as boys will be sitting 'entrance exams' for class placements for next year - class work is also taken into consideration however potential new boys are sitting the exams and they give us something of a comparison platform.

8/11/2013

9 iPads in today ( plus one boy who is bringing one in away sick) which means we have enough digital devices within the classroom for a one-to-one ratio which is so exciting!
There was the first cracked screen before school even started when an iPad was dropped on the concrete (not from our class thankfully). This serves as a timely reminder of the value of a case that protects the whole iPad with rubber corners etc.

8/08/2013

I have included a copy of the iPad Responsible Use form in the iPad tab. Have a great w/e - Happy 100th Birthday Wiremu!

8/07/2013

Please refer to the 'iPads in our Classroom tab for information on apps the boys will need to have downloaded when they come to school.

8/01/2013

Have a great w/e!

Digital Strategy Meeting

There will be a meeting for any interested parents in the Founders Room on Wednesday 7 August from 6.30-8.30 to look at the Hereworth Digital Strategy in preparation of boys bringing their own devices into trial classes from the beginning of Week 3.
